| Description: Our client, a global energy controls designer and manufacturer, has an immediate need for an Electronics Senior Staff Engineer to support research, design and development of aircraft turbine controls. This position requires a high level of industry / customer contact and industry awareness. Additionally, this position participates in enterprise negotiation and provides technical evaluation of new opportunities within the product life cycle. |
Responsibilities: - Supporting design of electronics based systems and LRU solutions from concept through platform development and ultimately production release.
- Independently troubleshooting / analyzing system problems using complex computer simulations.
- Independently writing complex component tests.
- Leading or directing several engineers, technicians, detailers and designers on a project level basis.
- Conducting / evaluating research and development efforts to assess reliability of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components.
- Developing innovative technologies to enhance reliability of COTS components for high temperature applications, improved performance and reduced costs.

Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required, post-graduate technical degree strongly desired.
- 12 years of professional hands-on experience with electronic systems, digital and analog design, layout and simulation, schematic entry, mixed signal circuits, assembly, test and debug.
- Must have prior aircraft engine controls development experience.
- Experience with communication hardware (Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI, etc.), A/D converters, memory architectures (synchronous/asynchronous) and a variety of logic families.
- Experience with digital (high speed design) and analog simulation software and circuit board design tools.
- Experience with 16 / 32 bit processors, Freescale microcontrollers (HC12, 56x, 55xx, etc.), Freescale communication processors (5200, 5215), Xilinx FPGAs.
- Highly refined communication skills including presentations; expert technical writing skills.
- Competent complex problem solving / troubleshooting skills.
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

| Compensation: Base Salary: $110,000 - $130,000/Year 7.5% Annual Target Bonus |
