My client is one of the world's largest providers of specialty insurance and assistance services.  They have been in business over 36 years globally and within the U.S. (headquartered in Richmond, VA) since 1983.  Right now they operate in over 28 countries and are a $2.5 billion dollar company.  

Due to growth, we are looking to find a VP of Underwriting to take on a strategic role of partnering with marketing, product compliance and actuarial department in creating new products, identifying new markets and distribution channels and managing existing accounts.  

The VP of Underwriting must also take on an Operations role to help manage the underwriting life cycle which includes providing structure, establishing/maintaining processes and integrating systems for documenting and evaluating results.    

In addition, this person will also be looked upon for directly managing the underwriting department including hiring, coaching, mentoring and providing overall leadership of the department.  We are looking for someone extremely technical from an insurance perspective and has proven track record of generating positive underwriting results preferably in program/group underwriting taking high-frequency and short-tail risk.
