| | Responsibilities: --Manages day-to-day activities with various environmental permits, including permits to operate, air, water, drinking water, and wastes. Files required reports and permit applications as needed to keep the plant compliant with all applicable environmental rules and regulations.
--Monitors pending regulatory activity wihch has the potential to impact plant operations and permitting. Keeps management abreast of anticipated requirements.
--Works with vendors to select equipment and services related to environmental controls, such as sampling equipment, monitoring equipment, emissions testing, effluent toxicity testing, and laboratory certification testing, etc.
--Determines credentials, admits, and escorts governmental auditors through the facility as required, and prepares replies and corrective actions to audit findings.
--Oversees contractors involved in grounds keeping, pest control, chemical handling, and waste removal. | | Requirements: --Educational requirements: Chemical engineering degree, or strong science 4-year degree.
--At least three years of experience in permitting and maintenance of environmental programs in an industrial setting.
