We’re teaming with a geoprofessional services firm that has been established for over 45 years to offer an opportunity for a Geotechnical Project Manager to join their Ventura County office. They serve Santa Barba and West Los Angeles County clients as well.

This firm provides expertise throughout California for geologic projects, construction materials testing and observation, special inspection, among many other geotechnical engineering services.

Throughout California, they integrate the advantages of local knowledge of geotechnical and geologic conditions with their wide base of professional and technical expertise.

Their Ventura County office is well established with over four decades of history in the community. As the most predominant and well-respected geotechnical engineering and special inspection/materials testing firm in the area, they have an excellent market share and are successful on many of the most desirable projects in that area. Their target market includes local K-12 schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities, public works, hotels, industrial, transportation, commercial, and high-end residential projects.

The successful candidate will be part of a seasoned geotechnical team, with the resources of a sizable and excellent technical support staff, including a full materials testing laboratory. There will be opportunities for technical advancement, as well as the possibility of a future leadership role, including the ability to become a shareholder.

  • Prepare proposals, including development of work scopes and fees
  • Meet and communicate with clients and prospective clients regarding projects
  • Perform/supervise geotechnical engineering investigations
  • Analyze field and laboratory data and perform calculations using appropriate methods, including geotechnical software
  • Develop geotechnical criteria for various types of projects, including those in public, private, military, educational and healthcare sectors, including analysis and recommendations for shallow and deep foundations, settlement, liquefaction, and slope stability
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, grading reports, special inspection reports, and other types of documents
  • Oversee projects under construction for which the firm is providing geotechnical inspection/materials testing services
  • Problem solving in the field
  • Provide technical and operational guidance to lower level staff
  • Participate in professional organizations to promote the professional image and reputation of the company
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Initiate and participate in marketing efforts
  • Manage both geotechnical and construction testing/inspection projects, including involvement in project set-up, scheduling/supervision of personnel and subcontractors, monitoring of budgets, invoicing and collections
  • B.S. Civil Engineering

  • Registered Professional Engineer, California

  • Registered Geotechnical Engineer, California is a Plus
