Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Description: The Superintendent will be responsible for managing and controlling assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, work quality, and trade contractor and supplier coordination and work in conjunction with the project manager leading the project team.
Responsibilities: X Manage the day-to-day field activities (including logistics planning) for a variety of trades ensuring that quality and quantity of work meet the project needs (including obtaining all inspections and staying within budget and schedule) Create and maintain long-term and short-term schedules, while anticipating and resolving issues. Manage self-performance activities to budget and schedule; verify that all work is installed in a workmanlike manner and quality control standards are met Meet with internal staff and external stakeholders to discuss status of projects and identify and resolve any problems X Assist preconstruction and project managers with purchasing/buyout or estimating of appropriately sized projects Ensure that cost elements that support particular elements of projects were properly solicited (e.g., quotes for materials, miscellaneous services, etc.) Create and/or assist with creating a project budget and track at all levels of the project X Identify and mitigate risk; manage cost events and expedite solutions to avoid claims Ensure all safety standards are maintained within all areas of work environment Ensure all aspects of the project are compliant with contract terms and legal requirements and are fully documented Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders and other agreements to ensure scope, terms and conditions are consistently and proactively met. Manage changes in project scope ensuring most up-to-date contract documents are used at all time to prevent avoidable rework
Requirements: X Position requires an industry related degree and a minimum of five years of commensurate experience in commercial construction X Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, construction project management and scheduling software a must X Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions (including nights and weekends as needed) X Have an understanding of construction means and methods associated with commercial construction X Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both verbally and in writing with external and internal customers X Ability to appropriately delegate work with proper instructions and authority to complete tasks
