Description: POSITION: Electrical AutoCAD Technician – Industrial Manufacturing REPORTS TO: Electrical Engineering Team LOCATION: E. Peoria, IL and Morton, IL 61550 DESCRIPTION A major architectural/engineering/drafting firm has an immediate opening for an Electrical AutoCAD Technician to support electrical engineering projects at its client’s manufacturing facility. This is a two-year contract position with excellent potential for continued employment with the hiring firm at the end of the contract period.
Responsibilities: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Electrical AutoCAD Technician will work directly with the client’s electrical engineering team and electricians to create drawings for arc flash studies. The AutoCAD Technician’s primary responsibility will be to create one-line drawings and plan views using data and hand sketches collected in the field and using the client’s design template. The AutoCAD Technician will be responsible for maintaining all one-line drawings and plan views created by himself/herself and by others within the electrical engineering group to keep all such drawings current.
Requirements: REQUIREMENTS • AutoCAD coursework in electrical design or clear knowledge and understanding of ACAD resulting from work experience. • Three of more years of experience with AutoCAD software in creating one-lines, three-lines and electrical plan drawings from field data. • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to keep current on AutoCAD programs and computer technology as they change. • Good written and oral communication skills. • Proven ability to work successfully and supportively within a team environment.
Compensation: COMPENSATION Hourly salary between $18 and $25, depending on skills and experience, plus full benefit plan. Potential to transition into permanent position at end of two-year engagement.
