Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Description: The CFO will be a trusted business advisor to the CEO and will provide the financial leadership, execution, and experience required to support the companyˇ¦s growth by working closely with the executive team and the finance and accounting staff.
Responsibilities: • Participate as a business partner contributing directly to strategy and providing financial insight, guidance, direction, management and recommendations to guide resource allocation and other strategic decisions • Ensure strong and accurate finance systems, reporting, analysis, forecasting and personnel are in place to partner and assist with maximizing the companyˇ¦s success • Understand the business sufficiently to both explain financial results in a business context (provide the story behind the numbers) and recognize/ prioritize opportunities for process improvement • Maintain and augment a financial planning and reporting process that is timely and accurate, a strong internal control environment and positive relations with financing providers and other financial vendors • Lead and manage planning, budgeting, and forecasting • Drive financial literacy and sound, proactive decision making • Help executives identify countermeasures when financial challenges arise • Financial statement preparation, planning, analysis, tax return preparation, and transaction execution • Develop, maintain and manage effective relationships with banks and other credit providers and the outside accounting firm to support current operations and future growth • Maintain/enhance strong internal controls and insurance activities for the organization • Understand general economic, business and financial conditions and anticipate their impact on the company’s policies and operations; Ensure the company maximizes tax and business advantages, opportunities, avoids tax disadvantaged situations and complies with tax and other regulatory requirements • Provide interaction and assistance with company shareholder group on various financial aspects related to company • Own the organization’s orientation to financial and corporate risk management • Assess risk continuously and work with the leadership team to mitigate risk / transfer risk whenever possible • Coach and mentor finance and accounting staff • Develop resources within the finance department that can be translated/transferred to other departments within the company (e.g., reports, infrastructure, etc. • Oversee and manage company IT • Attend business, community, and industry events to represent firm
Requirements: • 15 years or more of financial experience including at least 5 years in a financial leadership role • Construction industry experience a plus • BS Degree in Finance or Accounting • CPA and MBA strongly preferred • Strong knowledge of GAAP • Demonstrated ability and experience in interacting with high level finance and management professionals • Evidence of strong leadership skills including strategic thinking, analytical ability, business acumen, communication and interpersonal skills • Strong management skills with the ability to lead, manage, mentor and develop others • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce
