Dovetail Genomics is an early stage company developing cutting edge genomic technologies for vastly improving genome assembly, uncovering critical structural variation information, and other applications in genomics. Their technology enables a wide variety of applications: genome assembly, analysis of Topologically Associated Domains (TADs) in disease, Structural Variation and Metagenomics are a few areas that their technology can be applied. Their technology can be applied to both human and agricultural research. When used in combination, their products give order and orientation to short read assemblies and deliver chromosomal level assemblies. There is no other combination of technologies on the market that can achieve this.

The Regional Sales Manager must have strong technical knowledge in the area of Next Gen Sequencing and demonstrated technical credibility to effectively consult with customers to influence decisions on technology and product choices. Strong business acumen is required to build successful account and territory plans and translate territory strategy into business results. The ideal candidate will have a strong history of account relationships with key thought leaders in the Next Gen Sequencing space.

  • Demonstrates technical credibility to consult with customers on solutions to win business
  • Demonstrates funnel management skills with strong hunting/prospecting and closing skills
  • Commitment to rigorous territory planning. Develops and manages to a business plan to meet or exceed business goals for the territory
  • Develops and maintains current knowledge of genetic analysis markets, products, and buying practices required to effectively compete in the assigned territory
  • Share customer feedback and market information with internal partners to aid in development and commercialization of future services/products
  • Setup and execute technical seminars in key institutions to build funnel
  • Ensure that customers are fully satisfied
  • Represent the company professionally, ethically and morally at all times
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years sales experience in Life Science, experience selling services is a plus.
  • Independent working, hunter mentality with a strong desire to build a funnel, win business and establish long term customer relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of Next Gen Sequencing
  • Must be willing to travel as necessary to achieve goals
